Investigating the Effect of Ni Loading on the Performance of Yttria-Stabilised Zirconia Supported Ni Catalyst during CO2 Methanation

CO2 methanation was studied on Ni-based yttria-stabilised zirconia (Ni/YSZ) catalysts. The catalysts were prepared by the wet impregnation method, where amount of Ni content varied from 5% to 75%. Thereafter, analysed BET, XRD, SEM and H2-TPR. BET results showed an initial increase in surface area with loading, then a decrease after 30% loading.
